BEST-SELLING AUTHOR of 31 books, Mary Tate Engels is a novelist, editor, and teacher with roots in the South and a love for the Southwest, published in romance fiction, Western history and an authentic Mexican cookbook.
Summertime and the livin' is easy – and hot in the desert. The cacti are strong and resilient, taking the heat and bloomin' big, like those prickly pear above. But we all look forward to the monsoon rains in July. I love writing about people who live in the desert because they tend to be strong and resilient, too. They take the heat and bloom, but seek refuge in the cooling summer rains. "Speak to the Wind" is one of my books set in the Arizona mountains, on one of the Apache Reservations. Within a few hours of the desert sky are cool, pine-covered mountains where a big threat is wildfires. Beautiful, but dangerous. Great fodder for a love story. Watch for my books on sale this summer and one will be free on Smashwords for Christmas in July! Follow me on Face Book and I'll announce the sales and freebies. Thanks for stopping by and for reading my books about strong, resilient people – like you and me. Remember, every success starts with a dream. So, dream big and make it happen.
